Downloads

FireSight releases are downloaded from the portal's Downloads page. You don't need an account: you register your interest and get a personal, one-time download link by email.

  1. Open Downloads in the top menu.
  2. Choose the Download (the release and version). The cards on the right describe each release: its date, size, notes and SHA-256 checksum.
  3. Fill in Name, Work email and Company, and optionally Role, Country, Phone and What will you use it for?. If you're signed in, your details are filled in.
  4. Tick I agree to the privacy notice (required), and optionally Send me FireSight product news (optional).
  5. Click Email me the download link.

The page says We've sent a download link to … It works once, for 48 hours.

  • It works once, for 48 hours, so it can't be passed on.
  • If it has been used or has expired, the page says This download link has been used or has expired; click Request a new link to get another one.
  • The email only contains the link and the release name; nothing you typed into the form is put in it.

Requests are limited per address and per email; if you see Too many requests. Try again in an hour., wait and try again.

Check the download

Compare the file's SHA-256 checksum with the one shown on the release's card before installing. For example, on Linux:

sha256sum <downloaded-file>

Before you install

Read Install FireSight. A license is needed for production use; a 30-day evaluation starts automatically. See Licensing.

The export script

The FortiManager export script, fmg-export.py, is downloaded from inside FireSight, not from this page. See The FortiManager export script.
