The FireSight OT client
Web HMIs open in the browser with nothing to install. For everything else (Remote Desktop, VNC, SSH, Telnet and TCP tools such as Modbus, OPC UA, S7 or vendor engineering software), the fsot client tunnels the connection to a port on your own computer.
Get it
Sign in to the Hub, open My access and download the client for Windows, macOS or Linux. fsot version shows which build you have; it should match the version shown under My access.
The quick way
Double-click the client on Windows, or run fsot with no arguments in any terminal. The first time, it asks for the Hub's address and your sign-in. After that it opens straight into a full-screen list of what you can reach.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| ↑ ↓ | Choose a resource or connection |
| Enter | Connect. Web pages open in the browser; networks ask for an address and port. |
| p | Connect on a local port you choose (it suggests one, such as 15502 for port 502) |
| o | Connect and open the matching app (Remote Desktop, VNC) |
| / | Filter by name, site or address |
| Tab | Switch between resources and open connections |
| s | Save or unsave a connection as a port forward |
| a | Start all saved port forwards |
| d | Close a connection |
| q | Quit (it asks first if connections are open) |
Prefer a mouse? fsot ui opens a point-and-click window in your browser.
From the command line
fsot login https://hub.example.com
fsot ls # what's shared with you
fsot connect "Line 3 engineering PC" --open # Remote Desktop opens by itself
fsot connect "Press 4 PLC" # prints 127.0.0.1:<port> for your tool
fsot connect "Press 4 PLC" --local 127.0.0.1:15020
fsot ssh "Line 3 gateway" admin
fsot web "Line 3 HMI"
A word from the resource's name is usually enough.
Saved port forwards
Save the connections you use every day, then start them all at once:
fsot forward add PLC 15020
fsot forward add "Line 3 network" 15021 --target 10.200.3.15:502
fsot forward # list them
fsot forward up # start them all; Ctrl+C stops
fsot tui --saved # open the view with them already running
A self-signed Hub
If your Hub uses a self-signed certificate, fsot login shows its fingerprint and asks you to trust it the first time. Check the fingerprint with your administrator before you answer y.
Sign out
fsot whoami
fsot logout
Something wrong?
- "No resources": nothing has been granted to you yet. Ask your administrator.
- Refused outside working hours: vendor accounts can have set hours and an end date.
- A resource won't connect: the site's Cloud Connector may be offline, or its license may have lapsed. Your administrator sees both on the Hub.
